VRS Motor Finance race report for Silverstone...

After a string of bad luck, the VRS Motor Finance team decided to part company with it's previous technical team and have joined forced with the full professional outfit of Rowan Racing, based in Walsall, West Midlands.

The VRS car is now back up to speed and Adam was able to set the fastest time over the whole weekend during Saturday's practice and qualify the car in 3rd place for the race " It was great to have a car we can actually challenge for the front row of the grid now rather than struggling to make it into the top 8, so we're pleased, if it hadn't been for a small problem we could have started the race in Pole Position, but still very happy with 3rd " Commented Adam.

For the race Phil Burton would take the start, as he approached becketts for the first time, two CRS Ferrari's surrounding him, sandwiched Phil and he pick up a puncture so would have to come into the pits for a tyre change.

By the time he had rejoined the race he was now 2 laps down and the race had just started, so there was a mountain to climb for the VRS team.

Phil came into pit after 57 minutes into the 2 hour race and handed over to Adam, who took to the circuit just in front of the leaders of the race, " I was on cold tyres and 2 laps down so I decided to stay out of their way and waved them by, however it soon became apparent that I was much quicker than them, so I had to overtake both 2nd and 1st place to un lap myself and then was able to pull away from them, so it's great to see the car now has excellent pace and things would certainly been different had we had not had the bad luck at the start of the race ".
