For Adam partnered Phil Burton in the British GT Championships, driving a Ferrari F430 car. Adam and Phil raced in the new British GT3 category with the VRS Motor Finance Team.

The GT3 category was first introduced in 2006 with the FIA European GT3 Championship, they are purpose built racing machines as raced throughout Europe and have all been put through an ' equalization program ' using a system of handicap weight and power restrictions, all the GT3 machines are all of very similar overall performance to maximize the racing spectacle and put the emphasis on driver skill.

BRITISH GT

The Avon Tyres British GT Championship is the undisputed Premier Sportscar Championship in the UK displaying large grids of the best and most recent Supercar machinery – Ascari KZ1R, Aston Martin DBRS9, Dodge Viper Coupe, Ferrari 430, Lotus Sport Exige, Porsche 997 and the Lamborghini Gallardo to name a few...

As the oldest GT Championship in Europe, it has a heritage of professionalism, competition and accessibility. Racing around the most prestigious and challenging tracks in the country it provides an unrivalled challenge for drivers and teams alike.

Promotional support for teams and drivers from series partners and a high profile support package including British F3 International, Formula Ford, Caterhams, Ginetta and the VW Cup are helping the Championship race ahead...

Free Practice: Usually taking place Saturday mornings, one 75 minute session.

Qualifying: Two frantic fifteen minute qualifying sessions with a different driver in each decide the grids. For the one hour races, the driver starting the first race qualifies in the first session and the driver starting the second race qualifies in the second session, the driver with the highest driver ranking must always start the second qualifying session and race.

Race Pits: There's a mandatory driver change between the 23rd and 37th minute of any one hour race that takes place in front of each teams allocated pit garage or area of at least 45 seconds. Up to four mechanics can work on the car and help the drivers get in and out. In two hour endurance races, tyres and fuel change strategies; refueling stops must be a minimum of 90 seconds

The Avon Tyres British GT Championship machines are split into 2 categories, GT3 and GTC, the FIA homologate all the GT3 cars and make adjustments through weight and other measures (engine restrictors, ride height etc.) using techniques pioneered by the GT1 category of the FIA GT Championship, to ensure a balance of performance between the various models. This allows for competition not just against those driving the same car, but also against other drivers at the wheel of cars from rival manufacturers to maximize the racing spectacle and put the emphasis on driver skill. The GTC machines are more road derivative built racing cars from one make championships such as the Porsche Cup and Ferrari Challenge with only limited tuning modifications allowed.
